THE BLUERIDGE MYTHS: A Fool's Journey (Cradle to Grave)

This series explores the hero's journey (everyman) from cradle to grave sometimes accompanied by a cast of archetypal companions. My aim is to explore the uniqueness of the human experience by means of pictorial investigation. This blog will provide some hints as to the narratives but the final interpretation will be up to you. AN ARTIST AND HIS MUSES

Traditionally artist’s muses were female although they can be any sentient being that inspires passion. Art, love, and passion are very clearly related because most everything in the Arts revolves around knowledge and the enjoyment of beauty in one form or another. Confucius says “Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it” and the role of the muses is to aid in this search for beauty.
