HOUSE OF CARDS

Relationships are often built on shaky foundations and can easily collapse when elements are overlooked or unappreciated.  Often a combination of earthy sexuality (snake) and romantic love (rose), the secret is to find the right balance, the perfect harmony of yin and yang.  Only then can the House remain standing.

MONKEY TALES

Female party animals are a bit more refined than their male counterparts.  The monkey is a symbol of passion unlike the raw sexuality of the fish.  Michelangelo’s Dying Slave has a monkey emerging from the unfinished marble at his feet, leading some to speculate that the figure is not dying at all but represents an enslaved passion.  Whatever -- the evening shows great promise.

ON LOVE

Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
-- (Kahlil Gibran)
